Getting Ready for Your Next Party

5 Tips and Tricks for Decorating a Party with FlowersBring the natural touch to your next party with our florist-approved ideas for floral party decorations. Instead of heading off to your high street stores in search of plastic embellishments or balloons, consider environmentally friendly alternatives and browse online flower shops for some fantastic deals on cheap flowers you can use to create amazing party decorations. Discover some of our amazing decorating ideas using flowers and never use plastic bunting again!

Flower Garlands

Garlands, much like bunting, are quaint and perfect whether they are used indoors or outdoors. For floral garlands, use seasonal blooms and colours, so for example, pastel pink roses for summer, and orange daisies for autumn. Winter garlands of elegant white roses with ripe red berries look amazing and white daisy chains in spring are a must. Make your garlands using 3 metres of twine for each one and around 20 stems of flowers with which to decorate the twine. You can choose to simply tie one flower each time with a few inches between each one, or you can gather small posies to tie at intervals along with the garland. These beautiful, fragrant garlands can be strewn over doorways, hung above windows or draped across fireplaces.

Vases with a difference

Once you have had your flowers delivered, you will want to display them effectively. The way to do this is to consider the time of year that your party is taking place. Flowers in jam jars can be stunning at spring and summer parties and can be used in rows to line garden paths, as table centrepieces both indoors and out, and also as place setting when accompanied by name labels tied around the rim. Halloween is probably one of the only times of the year that you can use pumpkins as vases, and these should be filled to the brim with assorted autumn flowers and fruits. Winter parties look wonderful with white flowers displayed in frosted vases with berries placed all around the bottom of the vases. If you can’t find the appropriate vase in your local shops, nearby florists or online flower stores may have the ideal frosted vases for your party.

A flower pinata

Pinatas are tremendous fun at kids’ parties and adult soirees, but why not try something a little different at your next celebration? Instead of a paper pinata, fashion one using cardboard boxes and the head of various colourful flowers. The cascading petals will look amazing after everyone has had a go at bashing the pinata to release the sweets and presents. Order your blooms via same-day flower delivery or next-day flower delivery to ensure the flowers are fresh as nobody wants wilting flowers adorning what is supposed to be a glorious pinata!
